The cycle of the Academic Competition "It is time to study in Russia!" in Kenya and Ethiopia

From 18.10.15 to 29.10.15 in the cities of Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Nairobi and Mombasa (Kenya) within the Academic Competition "It is time to study in Russia!" there was organized a cycle of events directed on increase an interest in Russian education among African school students and students

It is time to study in Russia!

The initiator and the main organizer of the project "It is time to study in Russia!" is Rossotrudnichestvo, under its auspices an organizing committee of the Russian Universities was founded. The project is realized in close interaction with the Ministry of Education and Science of Russian Federation.

Before the performing of all selection rounds of Academic Competition in Kenya and Ethiopia some meetings with the management of local schools were held.

Every school welcomed Russian delegation and expressed readiness to support the Academic Competition. In many schools such events have been held, and now some students are trained in Russia that provides positive reputation of the Academic Competition among school students

After performing the tests on mathematics, presentations about system of Russian higher education, educational programs, and also conditions of stay, social and cultural life of students were organized.

The youngest representatives of Fountain of Knowledge Academy school

Within the events of the Academic Competition formal meetings between representatives of the Consortium of the Russian Universities and Head of Russian Center of Science and Culture in Ethiopia and management of universities of Kenya and Ethiopia were organized. All of them expressed gratitude to the Russian party for the opportunity to get scholarship support on education, and the approval for the Academic Competition initiative, noting that such events promote creation of homogeneous world educational space, and that performing of further rounds of the Academic Competition on the basis of the University will favorably influence to development of the academic relations in area of international education. As a result of the meeting there were signed cooperation agreements between the host Universities and three Russian Universities, and the agreement on further development of cooperation was signed.
