Development of cooperation with Kazakhstan

Our University has been working with Kazakh company Alpha Academy Ltd for 3 years. In the framework of cooperation Alpha Academy conducts the career orientation work in Kazakh cities, welcomes MPEI delegates and carries out the Power Engineering Olympiad in Almaty.

On the 31st of October, in the framework of the Agreement of Cooperation MPEI received the Alpha Academy Delegation – 7 school undergraduates from Almaty and a representative of Alpha Academy.

The goal of the visit was to get acquainted to MPEI, its labs and curriculum, study process, social structure and to see the everyday life of students.

The guests’ visit of the University’s lecture, study and scientific laboratories was led by Alexander Ankin according to the IEPE and IACE directors’ plot.

On the Department of Electric Power Systems, Rinat Nasyrov, its First Deputy Head, showed the schoolchildren the VR Simulator of Power Plant Substation that caused lively interest and the desire to try it out.

Sergey Khrenov, Head of the Department of High Voltage Engineering and Electrical Physics, showed the Department Laboratory and explained the protective measures for the high voltage cabel breach, as well as the functioning model of the building’s lightning safety.

In the laboratory of the department of "Computing Machines, Systems and Networks" associate professor Sergey Mikhalin told the students about the basics of the curcuit design and features of electronic apparatuses.

In general, the tour was a direct professional event that will give the students an opportunity to make a conscious move in choosing MPEI or other University as their future.​
