19.12.2019

In 2019 MPEI took part in the federal project "Education Export" of the National Project "Education" creating 5 Resource Centers abroad. The event’s agenda was: "Creating 5 Resource Centers for children and teachers that popularize the study of general subjects (Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Astronomy and others) in partner states including CIS countries and using the network of Russian Science and Culture Centers, offices of Russian and transnational companies abroad".

In course of the event, an educational and methodological complex (TMC) in physics was developed. One of its features is the availability of proposals for the organization of experimental work (physical experiments for students). Their implementation depends on the conditions and the availability of requisites. Another is considering the relationship between each section of physics and its real practical application.

7 teachers of the Institute of Electric Power Engineering of the MPEI were sent to Resource Centers created on the basis of five schools: the Joint Mongolian-Russian Secondary School in Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia), the Gazprom-Kyrgyzstan School (Kyrgyzstan), the Russian-Tajik secondary school at RTSU (Tajikistan), Moscow International School in Antalya (Turkey), Secondary School named Yuri Gagarin "Kamchia" (Bulgaria).

The MPEI teachers conducted classes in Physics  for students of the 9-11 (12) forms for those schools. They carried out interactive games developed in MPEI at the department of Electric Power Engineering systems to make students acquainted with their future potential specialty. During the game the students had an opportunity to work out the language skills, but at any instant they could switch to their native language for discussion. As well, students received some notion of their possible future job colored with positive emotions. The principles of the work of Power Engineering systems, that are included in the basic school standards of Physics, was covered by the event participants. The introductory lessons to main Physics branches have also been carried out.

As a result, the schools that were involved expressed their gratitude to MPEI, and the students pointed out the interesting opportunity to take part in experiments, to work as a team, and to obtain the information in a comfortable way from the competent tutors.

By 2024, more than 50 Resource centers of Russian education abroad are to be created.
