MPEI signs an agreement on cooperation with Kazakh University

3 March, 2022, a delegation of the non-commercial joint-stock company "East Kazakhstan Technical University named D. Serikbaev" (EKTU) from Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan, paid a working visit to MPEI.

Zhassulan Shaimardanov, EKTU Rector, and Natalya Denisova, Vice-Rector for Research and Digitalization, as well as Tamara Segeda, Dean of the School of Nuclear and Power Engineering Technologies constituted the delegation.

In the framework of the visit, a meeting with MPEI Rector Nikolay Rogalev was scheduled, as well as a tour round the laboratories and the classrooms of the Institute of Hydropower and Renewable Energy and the Center of National Technology Initiative named "Technologies of electric power transportation and distributed intellectual energy systems".

The visit was concluded with the signing of an agreement between MPEI and EKTU.

In the framework of the cooperation between two universities it is planned to create and develop global network educational programs in the fields of power engineering such as: relay protection and automation, hydropower, renewable energy, traditional energy (heat, electricity), nuclear energy, as well, the universities are going to conduct academic mobility programs, internship programs for students, undergraduates, PhD students, faculty and much more.

EKTU named D. Serikbaev was founded in1958 and is one of the leading technical universities of Kazakhstan that educates specialists for metallurgy, mechanical engineering, power engineering, architecture and construction, transport, informational systems and economics.
