Open doors day at MPEI

20 March, 2022, an Open doors day was carried out at MPEI. The event gathered more than 1200 applicants and their parents from different parts of the country.

During the Open doors day, a large-scale conference was held reporting on the admission and the enterprise-based studies. The representatives of MPEI had answered all the questions about applying to the main power engineering university of the Russia.

The foreword was given by the Rector of MPEI Nikolay Rogalev. Then the first Vice-rector Vladimir Zamolodchikov spoke to the guests, as well as the research scientist of the Department of Engineering Thermal Physics Arslan Zabirov, who had become a winner of the “Leaders of Russia” contest in the “Science” nomination.

Sportsmen of the Center of Sambo named Anatoly Kharlampiev gave a show to the guests, and the student associations of MPEI presented the bright and multiple-sided life of the University.


The applicants were guided round the departments and Institutes of MPEI, opening the world of study process and laboratory works they would experience after enrollment. The Institute of Electrical Power Engineering professors showed the birth of a lightning, Institute of Hydropower and Renewable Energy employees explained the process of gaining energy from wind, sun and water, Energy Efficiency and Hydrogen Technologies Institute teachers spoke about the prospects of using hydrogen power, Thermal and Nuclear Power Engineering Institute lecturers spoke on the use of nuclear power.

The hall of the main study building of MPEI hosted the stands of the employer enterprises that told future prospects and demand for the university graduates.

The applicants who could not visit MPEI in person were offered a remote broadcast of the event.

Next MPEI Open doors days are to be conducted on the 10 April and 15 May, 2022.
