MPEI and East-Kazakh Technical University named Daulet Serikbaev discussed energy issues at round table

6 April, 2022, in the framework of science week MPEI representatives were present at a round table in remote format, organized by the Non-commercial joint stock society East-Kazakh Technical University named Daulet Serikbaev, that also gathered officers of energy branch enterprises of Ust-Kamenogorsk.

The goals of the event were to discuss the actual issues of the countries’ energy branches, as well as the tasks of the collaboration development in the framework of the mutual agreement signed in March.

The round table was divided in two sections:

Section for young scientists,

Section for actual issues of the energy branch involving industrial partners.

The first section included a report of two MPEI Ph.D. students, Vlada Ivanko and Olga Chehranova, who presented a speech in the field of Thermal Power Engineering upon the survey of the Heat Power Engineering specialties at MPEI.

The second section embraced a report on the “Role of hydropower in energy field of future” by Dmitry Mochalov, Ph.D. student of the Institute of Hydropower and Renewable Energy (IHRE). As well, this section was dedicated to talks on actual problems of the power branch with the Head of integration policy development department Anastasia Mashkova that spoke on the “Model of continuous personnel training for energy branch” topic. Another part of the section discussion involved the senior lecturer of IHRE Evgeny Ignatyev, the Head of the Institute of Electric Power Engineering Vladimir Tulskiy, Head of the Nuclear Power Plants Alexander Anikeev, International program coordinator Sultan Makoev, professor of the Department of Electric supply of industrial enterprises and Electric Technologies Sergey Nehamin.

In the end of the meeting the reporters resumed that such meetings and discussions upon actual issues in the energy branch are fruitful and contribute to good solutions for emerging problems.
