MPEI takes part in career advice project for Latin American students

27 October, 2022, Master students from Cuba, represented MPEI in the professional career advice project for Latin American countries organized by Russian Cooperation Office in Cuba, Russian Alumni Association and Novosibirsk State University International Center of Education.

The managers of the event were the President of Russian Alumni Association Vladimir Chetiy and the Director of Novosibirsk International Center of Education Evgeniy Sagaidak. From MPEI part the meeting was coordinated by Anastasia Mashkova, Director on Integration Policy Development, its Deputy Director - Marina Karaber and Cuban students Liosbel Diaz Lorenzo (IITCS) and Lady Encinosa Esteves (IEEE).

The event was the first in a series of planned online meetings with leading Russian universities. Along with MPEI, 7 other leading universities of Moscow city took part in it. The live broadcast of the event covered more than 2.5 million viewers from Latin America and from many other countries as well.

The students made a comprehensive presentation and spoke about the international awards and history of the University's international activities, its modern infrastructure, innovative activities and partner geography, its positions in world rankings and most popular training areas for international students. The hosts also noted the importance of MPEI in the international space, talking about the awarding of the rector and MPEI staff with the honorary order of the Republic of Cuba "Nico Lopez". That award ceremony took place on July 27, 2022 at MPEI with the participation of the Deputy Minister of Energy of the Republic of Cuba, the Embassy of Cuba in the Russian Federation, as well as representatives of the Russian Ministry of Energy and the National Committee for Cooperation with Latin America.

The delegates also discussed the preparations for opening of the MPEI Targeted Training Center in Cuba, which is planned to be carried out in November 2022. Subsequently, the Center will become a scientific and technological hub for the Cuban infrastructure, and also for all countries of the Latin American region, strengthening the vectors of large-scale international scientific, educational, innovation and technical cooperation.

In the future, the development of the Targeted Training Center of MPEI in the Republic of Cuba, based on the results of the implementation of projects for improvement of the energy industry of Cuba and partner states, will unite all the participants in this initiative into an internationally coordinated community - a Consortium.
