MPEI at XIX International Forum-Contest of Students and Young Researchers

In April-May, 2023 the best theses were selected within the XIX International Forum-Contest of Students and Young Scientists "Actual Problems of Subsoil Use". The expert jury selected the following abstracts of MPEI employees’ articles:

- "Development of Electric Vehicles in Russia under Sustainable Development" - Meri Zargaryan, Senior Lecturer, Department of Management in Power Engineering and Industry, Maria Znamenskaya, Senior Lecturer, Department of Management in Power Engineering and Industry, Natalia Ketoeva, Head of Department of Management in Power Engineering and Industry, Irina Sazonova, leading specialist of International Relations Department.

- "Digital educational platform as an innovative tool for sustainable development of energy enterprises" - Elena Gulicheva, Director on International Relations, Marina Osipova, Deputy Director on International Cooperation, Ekaterina Sysoeva, leading specialist of International Cooperation Directorate, Roman Rogov, PhD-student of Energy and Industry Management Department.

On May 22-27, 2023 the XIX International forum-competition "Topical problems of subsoil use" was held in the mixed format. The venue of the forum-competition was the Saint Petersburg Mining University.

The event brought together over 1000 participants from various cities of Russia, Asia, Europe, and Africa.

The program of the forum-competition included sectional meetings on 12 perspective directions of the mineral resource complex development, as well as an educational cycle of lectures "Philosophy of Science", where leading scientists of the university introduced participants to the methodology of scientific research, the basics of patenting, and the key rules for preparing a scientific article for publication in foreign journals.

The event gathered bachelor and specialist, master and PhD students of all years of study, young scientists up to 35 years old whose field of study or research topics correspond to the list of sectional meetings.

At the forum-competition Irina Sazonova and Ekaterina Sysoeva, employees of the International Relations Department, made presentations.

Within the section "Economics of Sustainable Development and Global Investment Trends", Irina Sazonova presented the report "Development of Electric Vehicles in Russia under Sustainable Development". Ekaterina Sysoeva shared her experience on the topic "Digital educational platform as an innovative tool for sustainable development of energy enterprises" within the section "Information and telecommunication technologies and digital transformation".

Marina Osipova, Deputy Director on International Relations, participated in the event in the remote format.

During the week-long Forum-Competition, participants got acquainted with the history and life of Saint Petersburg Mining University: there was a tour of the Mining Museum, the newest classrooms and laboratories created in cooperation with such companies as Novatek, Caterpillar and Schneider Electric. Participants solved case studies on the development of the Russian energy industry and cloud technology as part of the case study championships and participated in discussions.

At the end of the event it is planned to publish a collection of theses of the section reports and place it in the Russian Science Citation Index database.
