MPEI Rector at the celebration of the 78th National Day of Vietnam

On September 5, 2023, Nikolay Rogalev, MPEI Rector and Alexander Tarasov, Vice-Rector on International Relations attended the events dedicated to the 78th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day.

As part of the ceremony, the best Vietnamese students from Russian universities were awarded honorary diplomas and scholarships from the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the Russian Federation. A total of 20 students were selected including two MPEI representatives: Tran Quoc Thinh, Chairman of the association of fellow-countrymen and Le Quoc Dung.

Vietnamese students form a special community with tradition, friendship and love for their country as major role. This is especially important on Vietnam's National Day when everyone should unite and thank the past for the opportunity to create the future.

The first Vietnamese students entered MPEI in 1953 and during these years MPEI has trained more than 650 bachelors, masters and specialists, 120 candidates of sciences and 10 doctors of sciences for Vietnam. More than 160 Vietnamese specialists have undergone internship at MPEI.
