Annual program of the consortium “Russian-African Network University” has finished at MPEI18.12.2023In the Consortium “Russian-African Network University” (RAFU), eight professors and PhD students from Algeria, became graduates of the educational program “Current tasks of renewable Energy”, implemented in the MPEI with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. The Office on Integration Police Development is the coordinator of the RAFU in MPEI. During the program, the group attended lectures and practical classes, excursions to MPEI scientific laboratories at the departments of Hydropower and Renewable Energy Sources (IHRES) and Theoretical Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering (TFEE) as well as the most popular culturally significant places and attractions in Moscow and St.Petersburg. The program contains high-quality innovative theoretical and practical material presented by highly qualified teachers of the MPEI, including the features of renewable energy and STEM technologies. The first visit to Russia for representatives of the Ahmed Draya University in Adrar was filled with opportunities for the development of innovative technologies of MPEI, as well as integration in the field of Russian cultural and historical heritage. According to the Algerian colleagues, the skills and knowledge acquired during the ten days of the intensive program in Russia will serve as a solid foundation for their further professional activities. Nikolay Rogalev, MPEI Rector, noted the strategically important role of Algeria in international educational cooperation between Russia and Africa, and also expressed hope for further strengthening and development of cooperation between the two universities. At the end of the ten-day educational and cultural-historical track, the participants were awarded certificates of successful completion of the program. RAFU started in 2022. To date, the consortium already includes more than 50 Russian and 20 African universities. The important role of RAFU in the development of a unified educational space was noted by Vladimir Putin, Russian President, during the plenary session of the Russia-Africa summit in July this year.
