The Consortium's activities are carried out on the basis of the Protocol of the 21st meeting of the Intergovernmental Mongolian-Russian Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation and the Agreement on the establishment of the Russian-Mongolian consortium of technical universities, concluded between the National Research University "Moscow Power Engineering Institute" (hereinafter MPEI) and Mongolian University of Science and Technology (hereinafter MUST).

Any educational organization of higher education in Russia or Mongolia, that has a state license to conduct educational activities and is interested in expanding its field of activity in accordance with the goals and objectives of the Consortium, could become a permanent member of the Consortium.

The Сonsortium is not a legal entity.

Full official name of the association in Russian is: “Российско-Монгольский консорциум технических университетов”.

Official abbreviation of the union in Russian is: “РМКТУ”.

Full official name of the association in Mongolian is: “Монгол-Оросын техникийн их сургуулийн консорциум”.

Official abbreviation of the union in Mongolian is: “МОТИСК”.

The basic goals of the Consortium are:

  1. Extension of the ties between Russia and Mongolia in the educational and scientific-technical fields;

  2. Raising the quality of the technically specialized personnel training for Mongolian economy;

  3. Assistance for development of integration processes in science and education;

  4. Expansion of opportunities to receive quality contemporary higher professional education for citizens of Mongolia, as well as further development of professional contacts between Russian and Mongolian educational personnel;

The functions of the Russian Secretariate are performed by MPEI.

The functions of the Mongolian Secretariate are performed by MUST.

Each Secretariate supports the interaction between scientific organizations of its country and national authorities of its country.
