Collaboration of MPEI with universities and organizations of Kenya started in 1981, when the first Kenya students were admitted to MPEI for studying. MPEI has trained a large quantity of highly qualified personnel for a number of partner-countries as well as for Kenya. Currently 4 from Kenya students are studying at MPEI.
MPEI collaborates with MOI University, Eldoret and Multimedia University of Kenya.
In 2015 in Nairobi and Mombasa in the framework of the “It’s time to study in Russia!” Olympiad a cycle of events was held to stimulate the interest of African schoolchildren to the Russian education.
Students from Kenya annually participate in MPEI Interfestival. In its framework a spartakiade is conducted, as well as the exposition “Culture of my country”, cuisine contest, talent show, gala concert and different sports competitions. They also participate in the Olympiad of Russian language learners that was first conducted in 2005. Bachelor, Master and Ph.D. students compete in three nominations: poetry, singing solo and in a band, in Russian.
National Research University “Moscow Power Engineering Institute” has been collaborating with the universities and organizations of Kenya for decades, and it is planned to continue and extend the collaboration and to carry out exchange programs in the domains of science and research.
