The cooperation between MPEI and Turkey
began in 1997, when the first students were admitted to study.
A resource center for Russian education
was established at Moscow International School in Antalya within the federal
project "Export of Education". MPEI professors gave physics classes
for students in grades 9-11(12) from the abovementioned Russian-speaking
school. Based on the lessons results, the school management expressed their
gratitude to MPEI.
Since 2023, MPEI has
been implementing a project to train employees for the Akkuyu - the largest
Russian-Turkish nuclear power plant. Previously, MPEI student had an internship
in Turkey, working on the Akkuyu NPP construction project.
Since 2023, within the cooperation between the State
Atomic Energy Corporation «Rosatom» and Akkuyu, there has been implementing the
training of master-students in energy specialities, who will be employed at
Akkuyu NPP in Mersin in the future. The same year, 26 students were enrolled in
three areas of master's programmes. Currently, the students are studying at the
pre-university courses.
In 2024, the parties plan to enroll 46 students in 4
educational programs for training under the MPEI master's degree programmes. It
is planned to conclude partnership agreements with leading universities of the
Republic of Turkey as well.
