Cooperation between MPEI and Zambia began
in 1969, when the first students were enrolled to MPEI. Presently, MPEI 25
undergraduate and graduate students have finished their study at MPEI.
Since
2017, MPEI has begun to develop cooperation with universities in Zambia. The
rector of the Copperbelt University notes that part of the academic personnel
at his university has been educated at MPEI.
From 2013 to 2015 in Namibia with the
support of the Russian Embassy in Namibia and the Russian Center for Science
and Culture in Zambia there were a number of activities in the framework of the
Olympiad "Time to study in Russia!".
MPEI
regularly participates in exhibitions "Days of Russian Education" in
the Republic of Zambia, working with the Russian Centre of Science and Culture
(RCSC) in Zambia and the Ministry of Education of Zambia.
At one of the events in the RCSC in Zambia
(Russian House), Lusaka, MPEI shared its experience at the round table
Russia-Zambia on "Development of sustainable STEM ecosystem" and took
part in activities to improve the efficiency of recruitment of Zambian students
to study in Russian universities. Also, MPEI participated in the celebration of
the 30th
anniversary of the RCSC opening in Zambia.
MPEI

conferences. In 2020 Robert Kampesha, Military Advisor of the Embassy of the
Republic of Zambia, visited MPEI to discuss the issues of cooperation under the
agreement with ZESCO.
