MPEI on the 30th anniversary of RCSC in Zambia27.06.2019In June 2019 Zambia invited representatives of its Russian Education cluster to participate in the events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Russian Centre of Science and Culture. The guest from MPEI was Sergey Vishnyakov, Head of Department of Computing Machines, Systems and Networks. Sergey Vishnyakov made a report for the round table meeting at the Russian Embassy in Zambia concerning the issues of collaboration development between the two countries. The assessors decided to extend the programs of collaboration in the domain of education. Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Russia in Zambia Konstantin Kozhanov, Representative of the Ministry of Higher Education of Zambia Mbavuto Sakala and Deputy Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo Yuri Metelev signed the Roadmap that governs the phased development of academic exchange programs. Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Russia in Zambia Konstantin Kozhanov leads the discussion An Education Exposition based on the RCSC gave the opportunity to school graduates, their parents and Bachelors from Zambian universities that are willing to continue their study of getting to know the educational programs of the Russian Universities, pose the questions, communicate to Russian Alumni and recognize the nuances of Russian education.Sergey Vishnyakov gives the MPEI presentation at the Education Expo Zambian Universities took part in the Exposition along with the members of Russian universities’ Alumni. In particular, there was a meeting between Sergey Vishnyakov and Vice-Rector of Copperbelt University, professor Nelson Ngoma. As a result, the foundation for cooperation of MPEI and one of the leading Zambian universities was established.Meeting with professor Nelson Ngoma (Copperbelt University) In the framework of the visit the discussion led by representatives of the Russian Education cluster and Zambian Minister of Power Engineering Mathew Nkuva. It touched the prospects of power engineering collaboration development. Special interest has been shown by Zambian Government towards the cooperation in the domain of digitizing the power branch and implementing new technologies together with Russian universities and industrial companies. Meeting with the Minister of Power Engineering of the Republic of Zambia, Matthew Nkuva Sergey Vishnyakov met the Head of Department of Electric Power transmission ZESCO Webster Musonda. ZESCO in a vertically Integrated Power Engineering Company that produces, transmits, distributes and imports electric power in Zambia. Finally, the protocol of intention for cooperation between MPEI and ZESCO has been signed. The latter has been keen for implementation of new technologies in the domain of digitizing of Power Engineering created at MPEI.
