Presentation of the diploma "MPEI Doctor Honoris Causa" to the Nobel Peace Prize laureate and a winner of the award "Global Energy" Rodney John Allam

On the 7th of April, 2017 during the meeting of MPEI Academic Council the ceremony of delivery of the diploma "MPEI Doctor Honoris Causa" to the citizen of Great Britain Rodney John Allam was taking place.

Mr. Rodney John Allam is Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE), he is awarded for the contribution to environmental protection, and he is also a member of The Institution of Chemical Engineers.

Mr. Allam is a senior author of the special report about CO2 capture for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) – one of the main parts of work that in 2007 was given the Nobel Peace Prize. In 2012, Mr. Allam became a winner of the award "Global Energy" for his transcendent merits in the sphere of power engineering, namely for development of new processes and the equipment for producing of gases and cryogenic liquids and for development of application technology for electrical power generation.

Now he is a technical director of the company "Net Power LLC" that is a part of the company "8 Rivers Capital". Earlier he was director on engineering developments, board member of the company "Air Products & Chemicals pls".

Mister Rodney John Allam continually visited MPEI, he participated in lectures for MPEI students and professors, and he was the main speaker about the modern production technology of the electric power engineering based on Allam power cycle at the scientific colloquium. In frames of the cooperation with MPEI the area connected with optimization of cycles and technologies that belong to the authorship of John Allam is developing.

During the meeting of MPEI Academic Council prof. Rodney John Allam made a report and all attendees listened to him with great interest.​
