Workgroup session for University of Shanghai Cooperation Organization09.11.2022
9 November, 2022, the autumn session of the University
of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (USCO) was carried out remotely. From MPEI
side, Alexander Tarasov, Vice-Rector on International Relations, Sergey
Shirinskii, Head of International Administration attended the meeting. From
Novosibirsk State Technical University, Vadim Nekrasov, Head of Department of
International Cooperation, from South Ural State University, Tatiana Vasilyeva,
Head of the Center for International Educational Programs were present as well
as from Ural State University side, Sergey Kokin, Head of Department of
Automated Electrical Systems, and Andrey Konyaev, Professor of Department of
Electrical Engineering.
The meeting was dedicated to the development of issues
in the field of organization and implementation of the mutual education
programs of graduate and postgraduate studies in the framework of USCO. The
emphasis was made on the MPEI project for Methodology for the accordance of
undergraduate programs, containing a procedure for the interaction between the
main USCO universities in the field of joint training of the bachelors and the
actual procedure for the undergraduate programs. It was decided to take this
project as a basis and supplement it within agreements on the joint
undergraduate programs.
As a result of the meeting, working group participants
reached an agreement to submit comments and proposals on the project in the
near future, for it to be presented to a
wider circle of specialists for further discussion. Regarding joint
postgraduate programs, it was decided to generalize the existing experience of
Novosibirsk State Technical University and South Ural State University in this
area, taking into account the changes currently taking place in Russia and
postgraduate studies as the third part of higher education.
