MPEI visited Hebei Technological University: a new stage of scientific and cultural exchange.18.12.2024From December 10 to 14, 2024 representatives of the Department of Electric Power Systems (EPS) visited Hebei University of Technology (Tianjin) in China. The delegation of EPS was headed by Assoc. Prof. Rinat Nasyrov. The delegation included Assoc. Prof. Ramis Bulatov and Ph.D.-student Zhou Haochen. Representatives of the Department of Electric Power Systems (EPS) visited the History Museum of Hebei University of Technology, where they explored the history and contemporary achievements of the university. The delegation also toured the Institute of Electric Power Engineering, including the “State Key Laboratory of Reliability and Intelligence of Electrical Equipment,” jointly established by the Ministry and the Provincial Government, as well as the Power Electronics Laboratory, the Energy Storage Systems Laboratory, the Student Laboratory, and other facilities. Additionally, the EPS delegation exchanged professional insights with Zhang Xian, Deputy Director of the State Key Laboratory. Assoc. Prof. Ramis Bulatov made a report on “Scientific Research of the Department of Electric Power Systems of Moscow Power Engineering Institute on Energy Storage Systems”. He presented the results and research directions in the field of energy storage systems and discussed issues on energy storage systems with professors and students. After the report, Prof. Wu Xiaogang and his team introduced the current research on energy storage systems and had in-depth exchanges and discussions with the team on the status and trends of power system development in China and Russia, as well as the development trend of LESS. Both sides will continue to deepen the scientific and technological cooperation and exchanges in the field of energy storage systems based on the existing cooperation. Accompanied by Professor Wu Xiaogang, the EPS Delegation visited REsource Electric, China's leading manufacturer of renewable energy equipment and solutions, familiarized with its scientific and technological research center and equipment assembly and testing center, and gained an in-depth understanding of the technologies and capabilities of renewable energy equipment manufacturing in China. During the visit, in addition to scientific and technological exchanges, the delegation also visited Tianjin Ancient Cultures Street and the Great Wall, gaining a deeper understanding of Tianjin's urban view, traditional Chinese culture and folk customs. Reference Founded in 1903, Hebei University of Technology, formerly known as Beiyang Polytechnic Institute, is a key institution under China’s 211 Project, primarily focused on engineering disciplines. In 2017, its Electrical Power and Electrical Engineering program was selected as part of the initiative to develop world-class universities and academic disciplines in China. The university plays a significant role in training professionals in electric power engineering. Wu Xiaogang, PhD, is a professor and head of the Department of New Energy Science and Engineering at the Institute of Electric Power Engineering, Hebei University of Technology, China. As a visiting scholar, he spent 2019–2020 at MPEI. His research focuses on the integration of electricity storage systems and energy management.
