Delegation from the Association of Science and Technology in Shandong province visited MPEI

On August 20, 2024, a delegation from the Association of Science and Technology in Shandong province (China) visited MPEI. During the visit, the Chinese party representatives and the University management and specialists discussed the prospects for further cooperation in science and technology.

The delegation consisted of high-ranking representatives of science and education in Shandong province. The delegation was led by Mr. Lian Kai, Deputy Secretary of the Party leadership group and Vice Chairman of Shandong Association of Science and Technology. The delegation also included Fan Yuzhan, a Chairman of Heze Association of Science and Technology, and other representatives of research and educational establishments in the province.

The delegation was welcomed by Nikolay Rogalev, MPEI Rector.

The visit schedule was highly topical and it included a presentation about MPEI, demonstration of GOELRO – a unique museum, the main University academic building, as well as a board of honorary doctors and professors.

The delegation paid special attention to excursions to the first key MPEI departments and centers. The guests visited the Department of Hydropower Engineering and Renewable Energy, where they were met by Tatyana Shestopalova, Director of the Institute of Hydropower and Renewable Energy. As part of the excursion to the National Technology Initiative Center for Electricity Transportation Technologies and Distributed Intelligent Energy Systems (NTI Centre), the delegation was accompanied by Evgeny Voloshin, Principal Director of scientific research. In the end, there was a tour around the Department of High Voltage Engineering and Electrophysics​ (HVEE), where the delegation was met by the Head of the Department, Alexander Temnikov.

From the Russian part, the meeting was also attended by Elena Gulicheva, Director on International Relations, and the personnel of the MPEI Directorate for International Relations. The Chinese delegation visit became a significant step in strengthening the international scientific and technical cooperation between MPEI and educational institutions of Shandong province, opening new prospects for joint projects and experience exchange.
