MPEI participated in the information stage and selection round of the Academic Competition "It is time to study in Russia!" in the Republic of Kazakhstan

From 19.10.2015 to 23.10.2015 in the Republic of Kazakhstan, in the cities of Almaty and Astana there was organized the Academic Competition "It is time to study in Russia!", organizer is Rossotrudnichestvo.

6 Universities of Russian Federation participated in the event virtually and 22 Universities sent their representatives to take part in the Academic Competition.

In every educational institution the opening of events started with meeting with management of every school or University where issues concerning cooperation were discussed. Then presentations of members-Universities of the Consortium "It is time to study in Russia!" were held, then their representatives answered the questions of students.

On October 19 and 20, 2015 the Academic Competition was held in Almaty. The participants were school students of 10 - 11 classes. Students of the senior year of Satbayev Kazakh National Technical University participated in the Academic Competition on recruiting for the Master's programme. Totally in Almaty 300 school students and 150 students took part in the event.

On October 22 and 23, 2015 the Academic Competition was held in Astana. In the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University 60 students took part in the Academic Competition.

The main objectives of this Academic Competition abroad are using of the Olympiad mechanism to create natural competitive environment among talented youth of the Republic of Kazakhstan interested in continuation of the education in Russia; to create positive image of the Russian engineering education, and also to demonstrate a wide range of the Universities represented by organizers of the Academic Competition; to select graduates from national schools for training in Russia within the quota determined by the Government of the Russian Federation and also on contract basis.

Winners of the Academic Competition will be able to receive a training quota in one of the Russian technical universities, including MPEI. For a conscious choice of future University to continue their education every participant of the Academic Competition got the reference book with information about member-Universities of the Consortium "It is time to study in Russia!" in 2015/16 academic year.
