Visit of Cuban Ministry of Power Engineering delegation

On the 6th of September 2019 MPEI hosted a visit of the delegation of Cuban Ministry of Power Engineering that was supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Russia.

Guests were met by MPEI Rector Nikolay Rogalev and were involved in the discussion of issues of collaboration in the domains of education and science.

The delegation was offered a visit to departments and laboratories of MPEI. One of them was Department of Electric Power Engineering Systems of IEPE, where associate professor Renat Nasyrov showed the Cuban guests the simulation of the VR training device for preparing the personnel of power objects.

Alexander Anikeev, Acting Head of Department of Nuclear Power Stations made a tour round the laboratories of ITNPE.

After the tour, Alexander Tarasov, Vice-Rector on International Relations and Sergey Shirinskii, Head of International Administration, along with the Cuban delegates, discussed the possibilities of the Russian-Cuban internships organization at MPEI. The main target for this collaboration is to raise the Cuban power engineering specialists’ qualification.​​
