MPEI delegation visited Henan University of Science and Technology13.05.2026On May 7, 2026, MPEI delegation visited Henan University of Science and Technology (HAUST, Luoyang, China) for a working meeting focused on the development of the joint educational project of the MPEI- HAUST Polytechnic Institute. MPEI delegation included Alexander Tarasov, Vice-Rector on International Relations and Anastasia Mashkova, Director on Integration Policy Development. The Chinese side was represented by HAUST Vice President for Research Yu Tianyan, the leadership of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges, as well as the management of the MPEI- HAUST Polytechnic Institute. The meeting was also attended by Feng Yaоу, President of the International Eurasia Corporation, along with members of the organization’s project team. During the discussions, the parties addressed the further development of the joint educational project, including the organization of the academic process, student mobility, graduate training and prospects for updating the contractual framework for the next phase of the program. The MPEI–HAUST Polytechnic Institute is one of MPEI’s largest joint educational projects in the People’s Republic of China. Over the course of the project, more than 800 students have studied or are currently enrolled in programs in Electric Power Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, as well as Biomedical Engineering. Particular attention during the meeting was given to student academic mobility. At present, 18 students of the program are studying in Moscow, including those specializing in electric power engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering and biomedical systems. In the 2025-2026 academic year, more than 50 staff members from MPEI and its Smolensk branch have been involved in delivering the project’s educational programs. Henan University of Science and Technology is one of the leading multidisciplinary universities in Henan Province, located in the ancient capital of China, Luoyang. The university is among the key higher education institutions of the province and actively develops engineering, technological, and applied science programs. It enrolls tens of thousands of students and offers bachelor, master and Ph.D. programs, as well as hosting a number of national and provincial research platforms. The university is actively engaged in international cooperation and technology transfer, developing partnerships with educational and research institutions worldwide. The meeting also highlighted the role of the International Eurasia Corporation in advancing Russian-Chinese educational cooperation. For several years, its President, Feng Yaоу, has been actively involved in developing MPEI’s joint projects in China, including the MPEI-Hainan University project and academic exchange programs between Russian and Chinese universities. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further developing the joint project and launching new educational initiatives aimed at strengthening Russian-Chinese cooperation in engineering education, research and the training of highly qualified specialists.
