MPEI attends United Alumni Day in Vietnam
On the 6th of November 2019, in Hanoi the solemn soiree consecrated to the United Alumni Day was held. The organizer was the RCSC in Hanoi within support of the Russian Embassy in Vietnam, Vietnam Union of Friendship Societies, Vingroup Corporation and State Agricultural Bank Agribank. MPEI took part in the exposition of the photos of “Vietnamese students in the USSR/Russia” by providing RCSC the materials that characterized the life of Vietnamese students at our University.
The event was visited by the Deputy Head of Rossotrudnichestvo Alexander Radkov and Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Russia in Vietnam Konstantin Vnukov.
The event was also attended by Head of the Office of Research and Partnership Development of International School - Vietnam National University, Hanoi, the teacher of ToRFL of the preparatory faculty of the International School of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, the senior lecturer of the Russian language department of MPEI, Mai Nguyen Tuyet Hoa.
The first Vietnamese students entered MPEI in 1953. MPEI is proud that in 1954 it had the honor to receive President Ho Chi Minh, who visited MPEI on an unofficial visit. Over the years, MPEI has prepared over 600 bachelors, masters and specialists, 120 candidates of sciences and 10 doctors of sciences for Vietnam. More than 160 Vietnamese specialists completed an internship at MPEI. The work of MPEI was highly appreciated by the Socialist Republic of Vietnam - MPEI was awarded the Vietnamese Order of Friendship in 1978 and the Order of Labor of the First Degree in 2015.
