Solemn opening of National Committee of GEIDCO on MPEI basis

22 december 2020 an online-meeting dedicated to the opening in Russia of the National Committee of Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization (GEIDCO) on the basis of MPEI was held.

The MPEI part was represented by Nikolay Rogalev, Rector, Alexander Tarasov, Vice-rector on International Relations, Sergey Shirinskii, Head of International Administration, Oleg Kuznetsov, Head of the scientific-research laboratory "Problems of Electrical Systems", the responsible person for MPEI and GEIDCO interaction. The Head of Chinese part, Cheng Zhiqiang, General Secretary, made a report, as well as Chen Xupeng, Head of the Department on work with Eastern Europe and Central Asia, and employees of the Department of International Cooperation of GEIDCO.

The goal of opening the National Committee GEIDCO is to unite the institutes, companies and other members of the worldwide energy industry to create a global interconnection of energy systems and promote steady development of the world’s energy sector. The National Committee is responsible for conducting online events, working meetings and conferences.

GEIDCO is a non-governmental and non-commercial international organization that has been created on a volunteer base by enterprises, organizations and individuals keen on promotion of steady development of the world energy domain, that is registered in Beijing, China.

MPEI received the certificate of joining the Global Energy Union of GEIDCO in 2017.
