Spring meeting of International Thematic Group on Power Engineering of BRICS Network University

30 March, 2021, the regular meeting for members of the International Thematic Group on Power Engineering of the BRICS was held. The meeting was organized by the Indian Technological Institute of Bombay and was carried out remotely. The event was attended by representatives of all Thematic Group Universities and also some of Indian ones.

The spring meeting of ITG on Power Engineering was a subject one and was dedicated to Renewable Energy Generation and Storage. The reports were made by staff members of Federal University of Santa Catarina and Federal University of Vicosa, Brasil; Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology and Russian University of People’s Friendship, Russia; Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and Banaras Hindu University Varanasi, India; Hohai University, North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power and Hunan University, China; North West University and University of Limpopo, South Africa; аnd also IIT Madras, India.

On behalf of MPEI, a report was made by Sergey Nefedkin, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Chemistry and Electrochemical Energy, upon the topic: “"Research and development of promising hydrogen technologies at MPEI for the transition to a hydrogen economy in Russia" and Vladimir Kindra, Senior lecturer of the Department of Thermal Power Plants, upon "Steam turbine power units with hydrogen steam superheating".
