MPEI experts spoke at International Climatic Dialogues in Moscow


From 23 to 25 November, 2021, the International Climatic Dialogues in Moscow were held, based on the results of the summit COP26 in Glasgow.

MPEI experts took an active part in the event and provided the results of numerous scientific research of the university in the fields of climatic energy transformation and adaptation of the infrastructure and population to climatic changes.
Doctor of Technical Sciences Evgeniy Gasho, professor of MPEI, spoke as a leading expert and moderator of panel sessions on green construction and adaptation to climatic changes. Within the framework of the discussion, Mr. Gasho spoke about a unique MPEI  experience in the field of forecasting and evaluation of multiplicative climatic change impact on population and system of megalopolis life-support facilities. As well, he underlined the leading role of Moscow in the field of sustainable development principles’ implementation.
Keen interest and lively discussions were attracted to the reports of Olga Kondratyeva, Head of the Engineering Ecology and Labor Safety Department: “The role of best available technologies in reducing impact of industry on climate and environment” and “Assessment of prospects for adaptation of Moscow population to climate change and environmental pollution”.
Climatic dialogues were carried out in hybrid format with the help of a new project of the Moscow Government - International Climatic Platform. This scientific ground allows experts to offer their R&D articles in the field of climate and sustainable development to the international professional medium. As a result of the event, the Climatic plan of Moscow is being developed and is to be presented in the beginning of 2022.
