Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar visits MPEI

On April 20, 2022, Mr. U Lwin Oo, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to the Russian Federation visited MPEI.

Ambassador's wife Myint Tandoor was also present from the Myanmar side as well as Win Min Zo, the third secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar .

MPEI rector Nikolay Rogalev, Vice-Rector for International Relations Alexander Tarasov, 1st category engineer of the Dean's Office for work with foreign students, Sultan Makoev , doctoral student of the Department of Electrotechnical Complexes of Autonomous Objects and Electric Transport Mie Min Tant, Deputy Head of the International Relations Department Marina Osipova, leading specialist of the International Relations Department Irina Sazonova.

As part of the meeting, the guests were given a tour of the laboratories and classrooms of the Institute of Hydropower and Renewable Energy Sources (IHRES) and the Institute of Electrical Power Engineering (IEPE).


A presentation about MPEI history and life was shown, after which a discussion took place on cooperation in the field of training specialists for the energy sector of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed their hope for continued successful cooperation for the benefit of common interests in the field of training qualified specialists for Myanmar.
