MPEI Rector attends meeting of CIS Electric Power Council

12 October, 2022, in the framework of the Business program of the VI International Forum "Russian Energy Week - 2022" the 61st session of the CIS Electric Power Council in international format was conducted, attended by MPEI Rector Nikolay Rogalev.

Traditionally, the event’s participants are Heads of Ministries in the field of Energy that are the CIS members, as well as directors and CEO of strategic enterprises of power branch.

The discussion of actual issues at the session was carried out within the agenda of "Planning prospective development of Electric Power branch: the CIS countries approach". Russian Minister of Energy Nikolay Shulginov opened the session as a President of the CIS EPC and admitted active collaboration of all the states’ representatives within the organization.

MPEI Rector Nikolay Rogalev spoke on the progress in formation of sustainable values of the Scientific Expert society of the CIS that was initiated by the participation of the CIS EPC, as well as the start of the CIS Council of Young Scientists, whose pilot session was carried out at MPEI, on the 13th October, attended by Heads and experts of key CIS enterprises, as well as young specialists and researchers in the field of Power Engineering of the CIS countries.

The Chairman of the Executive Committee of the CIS EPC, Taras Kupchikov, paid gratitude to the MPEI Rector for help and support in the scientific and youth culture field.

The CIS EPC was created by the Intergovernmental Agreement on the coordination of State relationship in the Energy sphere of the CIS, created 14 February, 1992 and is a CIS official body.
