MPEI held a meeting of foreign graduate students

On February 10, 2025, MPEI held a general meeting of foreign Ph.D.-students.

Currently, more than 100 foreign graduate Ph.D.-students from 29 countries are studying at our university in 24 specialties covering the widest range of scientific areas in power engineering, electrical engineering, electronics, computer science, economics and others.

Natalia Savchenkova, Assistant to the Vice-Rector on International Relations, and Larisa Nyrova, Leading Specialist of the Directorate of International Education, addressed the graduate students.

Foreign graduate students are characterized by high motivation and aspiration to achieve success in their studies, mastering their specialty and defending their Ph.D. thesis. This path is accompanied by certain difficulties, both common to all students in graduate school and specific to foreign nationals.

The meeting aroused great interest and active discussion about foreign citizens' stay in Russia and Ph.D.-studies: countering the involvement of citizens in terrorist and extremist activities, the peculiarities of migration registration, and, most importantly, the issues of successful training and further defense of a Ph.D. thesis.
