MPEI develops cooperation with Vietnam

On February 10, 2024, a delegation from Le Quy Don State Technical University of Vietnam, one of the leading technical universities in Vietnam visited MPEI. The delegation was headed by Rector's Advisor Mr. Hoang Nam, who is also the Director of the Research Center for Cryptographic Technology and a specialist in information security for unmanned aerial vehicles. From MPEI side, the guests of honor were welcomed by Nikolay Rogalev, Rector, Alexander Tarasov, Vice-Rector on International Relations and Anastasia Mashkova Director on Integration Policy Development.

Le Quy Don State Technical University of Vietnam trains specialists in more than 33 specialties in both civilian and military profiles. During the meeting Mr. Hoang Nam, expressed readiness for joint activities to organize and conduct advanced training programs in information technology for staff and professors of VSTU on an annual basis in the next few years.

Sergey Vishnyakov, Director of the Institute of Information and Computer Science (IITCS), accompanied by Shamil Otsokov, Associate Professor of the Department of Computing Technologies​, Systems and Networks, presented a brief overview presentation of the activities of the Institute and the Department, as well as the opportunities that are provided to students studying at MPEI in these profiles. The participants of the delegation got acquainted with the activities of IITCS in more detail while visiting a sightseeing tour of the Institute and specialized classes.

During the working meeting, the parties discussed in detail the substantive areas of further cooperation and signed minutes of the meeting. It provides for the development of cooperation in the above areas and the conclusion of a Memorandum of Cooperation to specify the terms of joint work and strengthen partnerships.

At the end of the visit, the delegation visited MPEI Military Training Center in order to get acquainted with the unique aviation equipment of our university.

Since December 2023 MPEI has been the Chairman of the Russian-Vietnamese Consortium of Technical Universities, which was supported by the leaders of both countries during the visit of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Putin's visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in June 2024, and is also included in the Protocol of the 30th Anniversary of Friendship.
