MPEI hosted the Spring Meeting of the International Thematic Group on Energy of the BRICS Network University

On April 2, 2025, the National Research University "MPEI" hosted the traditional spring meeting of the International Thematic Group (ITG) on Energy of the BRICS Network University.

The meeting was held remotely via the ConturTalk platform and brought together representatives of BRICS Network University member institutions from Brazil, Russia, India, and South Africa.

The main focus of the meeting was the coordination of activities among the participants of the International Thematic Group on Energy in the context of implementing the Roadmap 2025. A number of conference proposals from ITG member universities have already been submitted to the coordinators, while additional proposals, including invitations to summer schools, are to be shared with partners through MPEI, the main coordinator.

The BRICS Network University Coordinator from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Prof. George Victor Brigagio, provided a detailed presentation about the university, its environmental education program, and the scholarship program that will launch an international track in August 2025. This program will allow Brazilian students to complete part of their courses at partner universities and also welcomes international students for inclusive studies.

The Institute of Ecology at the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia invited students from partner universities to explore open courses (MOOCs) available in English and Spanish. They also shared information about an upcoming international event, for which registration is still open.

Additionally, it was announced that the BRICS Network University Annual Event and the BRICS University Rectors' Forum will take place on June 5-6, 2025, in Brazil, hosted by the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
