On July 3, 2025, a delegation from North China Electric Power University (NCEPU) visited the MPEI.

The NCEPU delegation included Bi Tianshu, President, Li Bo, Director of International Cooperation, Qi Zheng, Dean of the School of International Education, Liu Yu, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Management and Computer Engineering.

From MPEI’s side, the meeting was attended by Vladimir Zhamolodchikov, First Vice-Rector, Sergey Shirinsky, Head of External Relations Department, Elena Gulicheva, Director on International Relations, Anastasia Mashkova, Director on Integration Policy Development.

During the visit, the delegation was introduced to MPEI’s educational and research infrastructure. They toured laboratories of the Institute of Hydropower and Renewable Energy, the Department of Electrical Power Systems and the National Technology Initiative Center “Technologies for Power Transmission and Distributed Intelligent Energy Systems” at the Institute of Electrical Power Engineering. At the Department of Nuclear Power Plants, the guests were shown a uranium-water subcritical stand used to study the physical parameters of multiplying media based on natural uranium and light water.

The two sides discussed the progress and prospects of their joint MPEI-Hainan University project, highlighted the recent successful thesis defenses of students in the “Artificial Intelligence” track, and explored opportunities for faculty exchanges.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties expressed their commitment to expanding joint educational programs, increasing academic exchanges, and launching new initiatives in priority fields for both universities.
