MPEI Ph.D.-students took part in summer school on artificial intelligence and green energy in China

From July 6 to 24, 2025, two Ph.D.-students from the AM&AI Department of IITCS participated in the Summer School of Shanghai University of Electric Power (SUEP) dedicated to artificial intelligence and sustainable energy development. The program brought together about 20 participants from various countries, including Russia, and offered a rich academic and cultural agenda.

Leading Chinese professors with international experience delivered lectures. Topics included the application of artificial intelligence in green energy, smart energy systems, and pathways to achieving net-zero carbon emissions. Practical assignments and team discussions perfectly allowed participants to apply their knowledge.

The program concluded with an international competition on business solution modeling in the power engineering field. MPEI Ph.D.-student Alexander Ryzhov took second place, demonstrating a high level of expertise and strong teamwork skills.

Participants also visited leading universities in Shanghai, including Fudan University, as well as museums, a planetarium, and Huawei. These activities provided a deeper understanding of Chinese culture and technological achievements.

Accommodation was provided in comfortable single rooms on SUEP’s new campus, and meals were served in the university canteens.

Participation in the summer school was a unique experience for MPEI Ph.D.-students, combining science, culture, and international collaboration.
