MPEI takes part in an international professional development program01.10.2025The State University of Management is hosting the professional retraining program “Managing International Activities in the Academic Environment.” As part of the program, an introductory session titled “Russian Education and Science in a Changing World” brought together more than 140 leaders from universities and research institutions. Participants discussed priorities and trends in international cooperation, strategic planning, and the key challenges facing the Russian higher education system. Among the participants were MPEI representatives: Elena Gulicheva, Director on International Relations, and Ekaterina Sysoeva, Assistant to the Vice-Rector on International Relations. Alexander Tarasov, Vice-Rector on International Relations, took part in the program as an expert. The highlight of the opening session was an open dialogue with Konstantin Mogilevsky, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. The event also featured representatives from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. Experts discussed key areas of international engagement, human resource policies in science and education, as well as visa and migration regulations. Particular attention was given to integrating international students into Russia’s educational environment and to the role of universities in shaping a positive global image of the country. The program ahead includes online courses, in-person training modules, and the development of 15 international cooperation strategies. The program will conclude on December 4, 2025. The knowledge and ideas gained will serve as a foundation for advancing MPEI’s international activities and expanding opportunities for students, MPEI personnel, and young researchers. The “Academic Reserve” program, has been implemented at the State University of Management since 2022, aims to train future leaders in higher education and will reach an international level in 2025.
