Around 250 young specialists from 17 countries discuss the future of power engineering at MPEI Forum

The International Youth Forum “Future Power Systems” has begun at MPEI, organized with the support of the Rosseti Group and the CIGRÉ Russian National Committee. Participants include representatives from Russia, Belarus, China, Malaysia, Myanmar, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Ghana, Cuba, and other countries.

The forum opening was attended by Andrey Murov, First Deputy General Director of PJSC Rosseti and Chairman of RNC CIGRÉ, Nikolay Rogalev, MPEI Rector, Fedor Opadchiy, Head of the System Operator and Darya Borisova, Director for Human Resources and Organizational Development and Head of the Youth Section of RNC CIGRÉ.

“The future of power engineering sphere depends largely on how well universities, research centers, and companies collaborate. Forums like this provide young professionals not only with knowledge but also with a clear understanding of the real challenges in the industry”, – Andrey Murov said during his opening speech.

The forum at MPEI serves as a hub for idea generation, where participants discuss not only the current challenges of the industry but also its development scenarios for the next 10-20 years. We are confident that our joint efforts will make the power engineering sector more sustainable, digital and accessible”, - Nikolay Rogalev, MPEI Rector, emphasized

The forum addresses topical issues in the power industry and strategic directions for its development, including research results in operational management, system planning and energy system reliability, as well as issues related to the integration of distributed generation and power quality management. The collection of reports will be indexed in the national research and analytics system RINC. Authors of the best papers will be recommended for selection to participate in the 51st CIGRÉ Session, scheduled to take place in 2026 in Paris.
