MPEI delegation visited Moscow school in Tsaritsyno17.12.2025At Moscow School No. 548, with advanced studies in Chinese (Tsaritsyno district), students in grades 9–11 met with MPEI delegation. The event focused on career guidance, opportunities in engineering education, and introducing students to the international educational project “MPEI-Hainan University”. The visit was organized by the Directorate for the Integration Policy Development at MPEI. The delegation included Anastasia Mashkova, Director of the Directorate; Kristina Volkova, Deputy Director, as well as Ph.D.-students Gu Xinyuan, Assistant at the High-Voltage Engineering and Electrophysics Department and Yin Hongxin, Ph.D.-student at the Steam and Gas Turbines Department. During the meeting, MPEI representatives spoke to the students about the university’s key areas of study, the specifics of engineering education, admission requirements and the professional growth opportunities available to graduates. In the discussion with the school administration, they addressed the creation of an engineering-language ecosystem in Moscow’s educational environment following a vertical model: school-university-industry. As part of the university’s international initiatives and the “MPEI–Hainan University” project, which prepares specialists in energy, IT, engineering, and high-tech fields, developing students’ Chinese-language skills specifically for technical disciplines has become increasingly important. MPEI Ph.D-students gave presentations to the school students, clearly demonstrating how education and research are organized at the university. Yin Hongxin shared his educational experience at MPEI, his choice of an engineering specialty and his current research on the reliability and diagnostics of steam turbines. He emphasized the practical significance of these studies for the power engineering sector. Gu Xinyuan introduced the students to the training programs at the Electrical Power Engineering Institute, the work of specialized departments, and the modern laboratory facilities of the High-Voltage Engineering and Electrophysics Department. He also discussed career opportunities for graduates and international educational pathways. The meeting was conducted in both Russian and Chinese and sparked lively interest among the students, many of whom are already considering applying to technical universities and see engineering and IT fields as the foundation of their future careers. The event formed part of MPEI’s systematic career guidance efforts, aimed at introducing high school students early to engineering education and the university’s international programs. At the conclusion, all participants were invited to attend MPEI’s Open Day on December 21, 2025.
