MPEI students at the Asian Institute of Technology (Thailand)

February 3-9, 2026, MPEI students and academic staff took part in the Global Immersion Program winter school, organized by the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT, Thailand).

The program brought together participants from Russia, India, Nepal, and the Philippines. Following an internal selection process, 9 MPEI students were sent to the Asian Institute of Technology, accompanied by Elizaveta Krylienko, Head of the Economics in Power Engineering and Industry​ Department (Engineering-Economic Institute) and Miloslava Mekeshkina, Teaching Master of the same department.

The Directorate on Integration Policy Development was the coordinator of the partnership and organization of the winter school.

Over the course of the week, participants underwent intensive academic training. Experts from various countries around the world delivered lectures and master classes. The educational track focused on modern tools in management, business analytics and the application of artificial intelligence technologies.

Special attention was given to project work: students teamed up in international groups, developed their own solutions and presented them at the conclusion of the program. This format allowed participants to gain hands-on experience in cross-cultural communication and collaboration within a global academic environment.

In addition to the academic component, the program included an introduction to AIT's research infrastructure and Thai culture.

Polina Koberman, a student of the advertising, public relations and linguistics Department, shared her impressions: "The Global Immersion Program at AIT is a unique blend of cutting-edge knowledge in management, business analytics, and artificial intelligence, combined with authentic cross-cultural experience. Students not only attended lectures by world-class experts but also worked hands-on in international teams, developing and defending their own projects. This is invaluable practice for a future career in the global arena".
