MPEI expands cooperation with Chinese universities

Artem Vanin, Assoc. Prof. at the Electric Power Systems Department (IEPE), made a working visit to China. There he toured universities in Suzhou and Nantong and is currently contributing to a joint Russian-Chinese grant application under the RSF-NSFC program.

On March 18, shortly after arriving from Russia, a meeting was held at Suzhou University of Science and Technology. Its university President Juping Gu, Director of the international Cooperation Department Jia Qian, Dean of the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology Hongjie Wu, and other university representatives attended the event.

During the meeting, the Chinese side presented their university and its key areas of activity. In turn, Mr. Vanin spoke about the educational programs and current research at MPEI, particularly within the Electrical Power Engineering Institute. Following the presentations, a working session was held to discuss potential joint research and the development of scientific cooperation.

Suzhou University of Science and Technology (SUST) is a public technical university located in Jiangsu Province, China. Established on September 1, 2001, through the merger of two institutes, SUST focuses on training specialists in engineering, information technology, and applied sciences.

The university enrolls approximately 20,000 students and employs over 1,500 staff members. Its structure comprises engineering and technology faculties, research laboratories and research centers. The university actively pursues applied research and international collaboration, engaging with industrial enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta region.
