MPEI participates in the 23rd session of the Russian-Cuban Intergovernmental Commission

On April 2, 2026, Anastasia Mashkova, Director on Integration Policy Development, took part in the 23rd session of the Russian-Cuban Intergovernmental Commission for Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation.

The session was held in St. Petersburg at the Presidential Library and was co-chaired by Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Oscar Pérez-Oliva Fraga, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment of the Republic of Cuba.

The Commission reviewed priority areas of Russian-Cuban cooperation across key sectors, including power engineering, infrastructure development, modernization of the power system, as well as personnel training for the industry.

The agenda also highlighted practical outcomes of cooperation between MPEI and the Republic of Cuba, including the development of educational programs and the training of specialists for the energy sector, as well as efforts to establish institutional support mechanisms for joint initiatives.

MPEI’s participation in the Commission underscores the university’s significant role in advancing Russian-Cuban cooperation and strengthening the global standing of Russian engineering education.
