Delegation from Glyndwr University (UK) visited MPEI.

MPEI International Division informs that on May 23, 2013 representatives from Glyndwr University (Wrexham, Wales) visited MPEI.

Glyndwr University was established in 1887 as Wrexham School of Science and Art (in 2008 as Glyndŵr University) and it was named after the medieval Welsh prince Owain Glyndŵr who, being the scientist, has founded universities in northern and southern Wales. The university provides educational programs in 23 areas and 123 specialties, including information technologies, management, journalism, business, engineering specialties and others.

Glyndwr University was called the best University of Wales in the nomination "The choice of students" (by result of student's survey "Barometer of Welsh students" in 2007). The University has close relations with industry of Wales - the companies Airbus, Toyota, Jaguar, Kellogg's and other large companies of Great Britain and in the world. The University realizes joint projects with leading British universities.

From MPEI at a meeting assisted acting Vice-Rector on international relations Vladimir Zamolodchikov, Head of International Administration Sergey Shirinsky, Head of Department of International Relations Alexander Tarasov and Head of IMT Department Igor Zhelbakov.

Within the visit the parties shared experience of realization of "two diplomas" programs, examined the main directions of students training. Following the results of the meeting the parties agreed about the beginning of "two diplomas" program development to start the program from 2013-2014 academic year.
