On October 31, 2014 during the meeting of MPEI Academic Council there was organized a ceremony of "MPEI Honorable Doctor" diploma conferring to the president of Vietnam National University (Hanoi) professor Phung Xuan Nha. It is the largest University in Vietnam which has over 30000 students and Ph.D. students, 3000 employees and 10 faculties. The president Phung Xuan Nha is one of the leading experts in the area of the international economic relations and along with teaching and research work in the field of Economics, Phung Xuan Nha heads the largest in Vietnam Educational and Research Center. Phung Xuan Nha is the candidate for members of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and he is the member of city committee of Hanoi.

Performing the leading function in VNU, President Phung Xuan Nha works a lot for development of the international cooperation in scientific researches and training of specialists, he pays special attention to cooperation with Russian Universities, in particular with MPEI. Result of joint activity of our Universities is realization of the project "It is time to study in Russia!" in Vietnam. Within cooperation between MPEI and VNU International School there was signed a contract on realization of joint educational programs.
