MPEI International Division informs that from March 31 to April 6, 2014 MPEI delegation headed by Rector N. D. Rogalev visited the Socialist Republic of Vietnam with official visit. Visit took place by the invitation of the International Institute of the Vietnam National University (Hanoi) for negotiations on implementation of joint educational programs. Cooperation between MPEI and Vietnam began 60 years ago, and for these years there were trained over 500 specialists and masters, 120 PhDs, 9 Doctors of Sciences. More than 150 Vietnamese specialists passed further professional training on the basis of MPEI. At the moment in MPEI there are trained 50 bachelors and masters and 11 Ph.D.-students from Vietnam.

There were reviewed the results of the performed project "It is time to study in Russia!" in Vietnam and there were discussed issues concerning the training for work at the nuclear power plant which was built in Vietnam and extensions of scientific and educational cooperation of the Russian and Vietnamese Universities. The Russian part acquainted the Vietnamese one with MPEI opportunities for training at the nuclear power plant under construction in Vietnam, planned to construction thermal power plant, and also MPEI opportunities for cooperation with Vietnam in the scientific sphere.

There was a meeting with MPEI graduates on the occasion of the 60 anniversary of training of the Vietnamese students and Ph.D.-students in MPEI - more than 100 graduates took part in this event. As a whole the visit of the delegation took place successfully that allows expecting further enhancing cooperation between MPEI and Vietnam.
