MPEI International Division informs that since June 16 till June 20 in Windhoek - the capital of Namibia - there was organized a cycle of events concerning the Academic Competition "It's time to study in Russia!" These events aim to increasing of interest among Namibian school students and students to education in Russia and its purpose is to recruit the most talented graduates from the Namibian schools, wishing to be trained in Russian Universities in the technical areas of preparation within the quota determined by the Government of Russia on training of foreign citizens and compatriots, living abroad. Except Namibia, this year a cycle of events concerning the Academic Competition "It's time to study in Russia!" was realized in Vietnam, Mongolia, China, Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Abkhazia, the Republic of Moldova.

The preliminary round of the Academic Competition in Namibia took place on June 19, 2014. The total of the school students who have taken part in testing on mathematics is 65 persons. After the testing, to school students and their parents were shown the presentations about the program realized by Russian Government concerning scholarship support of foreign citizens and compatriots for training in Russia, about system of the Russian higher education, educational programs, and also conditions of stay, social and cultural life of students in the Russian Universities.

All participants of the events received the reference book "It's time to study in Russia!" in English, containing information about Rossotrudnichestvo, Embassy of the Russian Federation in Namibia and nine Russian Universities, including MPEI. Explicate information on Academic Competition, their venue and conditions of participation was widespread through leading state newspapers of Namibia: New Era and The Namibian, and Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) radio station.
