The Department of Automated Electric Drive was
founded in 1930.
Summary
Its formation is associated with well-knowm electrical
engineers names: G.P. Levi , S.A. Rinkevich and A.N. Larionov who combined the
development of the electric drive theory with practical experience and
introduced it into industry.
A great contribution to the development of the
department and the school of automated electric drive was made by such
scientists as A.T. Golovan, D.P. Morozov, M.G. Chilikin , A.S. Sandler , V.P.
Bychkov, A.A. Sirotin, M.M. Sokolov, V.I. Klyuchev , N.F. Ilyinsky, Kozyrev
S.K. whose textbooks contain the basics of the classical theory of electric
drive and therefore today are the reference books of students, engineers and
scientists.
Currently, many of their students and
followers work at the department, including professors V.M. Terekhov, V.K.
Tsatsenkin , L.B.Masandilov , O.I.Osipov , M.G. Bychkov, V.F. Kozachenko, V.N.
Ostrirov , A.P. Balkova , A.A. Nikolsky and other famous scientists.
The department conducts active research
activities in the field of energy-saving electric drives for housing and
communal services, precision electric drives, microprocessor control systems,
power converter technology, traction electric transmissions .
The partners of the department are large
Russian and international companies: MIPC, Ruselprom, Metrovagonmash, Military
Industrial Company, KAMAZ, Stankin, Izhevsk Radio Plant, HIWIN (Taiwan), Texas Instruments
(USA), ABB (Switzerland-Sweden), Schneider Electric (France), Siemens
(Germany), etc.
