MPEI at Rectorate of USCO

2 December, 2020, in the framework of XIII week for Education of Shanghai Cooperation Organization members, the session of University SCO National Rectorate took place.

The session was organized by the Russian University of People’s Friendship and was carried out as a video-conference. At this Rectorate session, the main results of the activities of the SCO University and the prospects for its development were discussed, and the results of the admission campaign in 2020 in the current epidemiological situation were considered. Universities-coordinators of priority fields of training of USCO summed up the achievements of the past year. On behalf of MPEI as a coordinator of the priority field "Power Engineering" the word was held by Sergey Shirinskii, Head of International Administration of MPEI.

At the end of the session, the events of the Prospect plan realization of USCO work in 2020-2023 years were discussed.

The University of SCO functions as a network of already existing universities in SCO member states: Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan. Training of the highly-qualified personnel in the framework of SCO is carried out in certain priority fields of cultural, scientific, educational and economic cooperation of the Organization member countries: regional studies, ecology, power industry, information technology and nanotechnology.
