MPEI took part in VII Energy Symposium of SCO University

December 12-13, Beijing hosted VII Energy Symposium of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization University (SCO University​). The symposium focused on scientific and educational cooperation among universities engaged in the energy field within the SCO University framework.

At the event MPEI was represented by Elena Gulicheva, Director on International Relations and Artem Kovalenko, Chief Specialist of the International Relations Directorate. 

MPEI coordinates for the energy field within the SCO University framework. In her speech, Elena Gulicheva highlighted the results of collaboration between universities from various countries under the "Energy" SCO program and emphasized the successful implementation of the MPEI-Hainan Joint University project.

The 2024 symposium was jointly organized by MPEI and North China Electric Power University (NCEPU). It served as a platform for strengthening ties among universities of the SCO member states, which include Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Russia, and Tajikistan. The first day was entirely dedicated to energy, with discussions on scientific advancements, joint projects, and future technologies. The second day focused on international cooperation, highlighting strategic partnerships between universities, academic exchanges, and cultural interaction.

As part of the preparations for the Symposium, a meeting was held with NCEPU personnel.

In addition, as part of the event, both parties signed a framework agreement on cooperation under the dual carbon strategy.
