Visit of the Iranian Delegation to MPEI

On April 8, 2025, MPEI hosted a delegation from Iran's National Cybersecurity Authority, along with representatives from Positive Technologies.

MPEI was presented by Ivan Komarov, Vice-Rector on Science and Innovation, Alexander Voloshin, Head of the Relay Protection and Automation of Energy Systems Department (PACS), Director of the National Technology Initiative Centre for Electricity Transportation Technologies and Distributed Intelligent Energy Systems (MPEI NTI Center).

During the discussion, the sides exchanged views on current cybersecurity issues and potential areas of cooperation. MPEI NTI Center and Positive Technologies presented joint projects utilizing technologies for ensuring the cybersecurity of energy facilities, as well as in the field of trusted AI for energy and industry. Both sides also discussed the prospects for joint research and the development of technologies aimed at improving the security of information systems for energy and industry.

The delegation also visited the GOELRO Museum at MPEI, where they left a commemorative entry in the guestbook, and then explored the development of the PAK "Digital Twin of the Power System" (CDES), with a brief demonstration of the capabilities of CDES. The visit continued at the Dispatch Center with a demonstration of an intelligent emergency recovery management system in a joint laboratory with SATEL.

Following the meeting, participants expressed satisfaction with the dialogue and the agreements reached. The delegations confirmed their readiness for further collaboration in cybersecurity and the exchange of experiences between the countries.
