MPEI expands partnership with Malaysia in power engineering education18.04.2025On April 18, 2025, a delegation from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) visited MPEI as part of the cooperation agreement signed in 2023. UTHM is a public university based in Johor Bahru and is ranked among the world’s top 1,000 universities according to the QS World University Rankings. The delegation consisted of 11 students from the following faculties of the Malaysian university: Mechanical and Production Engineering, Engineering Technology, Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Also, representatives of the academic staff of the partner university arrived to MPEI: Dr. Mohd Rasidi bin Ibrahim, Associate Professor, Technical Specialist, Dr. Nofrizalidris bin Darlis, Associate Professor, Technical Specialist, Dr. Mariyam Jamila binti Homam. The visit was part of the MYFKMP International Mobility Program, with MPEI serving as the host institution. The program promotes student academic mobility and fosters international collaboration in engineering education. The delegation also met with MPEI’s leadership to discuss opportunities for further collaboration. In addition, both parties reached an agreement to hold the next meeting on May 2, 2025, as well as to implement a similar academic mobility program in 2026. Reference: The Faculty of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering (FKMP) at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia offers an academic mobility program that enables students to participate in international exchanges both within Malaysia and abroad. The program focuses on four key areas: one-semester study abroad, research projects (including graduate thesis work), short-term academic programs, and industrial internships. Through these opportunities, students visit partner universities, gain international experience, and broaden their academic and professional perspectives. Open to bachelor-students from the first to fourth year, the program aims to enhance both professional skills and intercultural competence.
