​MPEI International Division informs that from May 21 to May 31, 2013 a Ph.D.-student of the second year of study at MPEI Generation of Oscillations and Signals (GOS) Department A. Safin underwent training in Greece in a scientific group "Photonics, Phononics and Metamaterials" of the Institute of Electronic Structure and Lasers (PPM-group, http://esperia.iesl.forth.gr/~ppm/index.html).

The purpose of the visit was implementation of scientific researches with a joint grant within the federal and target program "Human Capital for Science and Education in Innovative Russia" which is realized at MPEI GOS Department under the management of the invited expert from Institute of Electronic Structure and Lasers, the alumni of MPEI, Ph.D.(Techn.) - Alexey Basharin.

During the work there had been discussed the areas of researches that can be mutual interesting, possibilities of the joint projects in the field of theoretical and applied researches of spintronics elements and metamaterials, prospects of joint development and possibility of further scientific training for MPEI students and Ph.D.-students.
