MPEI International Division informs that within the Cooperation Program MPEI and other Universities since November 23 to November 24, 2013 there has been organized All-Russian SpeedCubing Championship MPEI Open 2013.

Today SpidCubing movement in CIS countries unites over 15000 young people from the cities of Russia, Kazakhstan, Republic of Belarus and Ukraine. Every year interest to the SpeedCubing continuously increases, and the movement extends geography. This championship became the fourteenth (the fourth in MPEI) and the largest on number of participants among the similar competitions held before in Russia. 199 people participated in the Championship. Competitions took place in 17 disciplines. Results of all Championship participants were included in the international base of the World Cube Association (WCA). According to the results of two-days intense fight the world record-holder Mats Falk (Netherlands) became new Champion of Russia in discipline "recomposition of Rubiс's Cube " and he owned the first prize - semi-kilogram ingot of silver. Its average time of recomposition in the final was only 8,68 seconds. The second place was taken by the representative of Russia, the student of REU of G. V. Plekhanov, Nikolay Evdokimov from Kursk (average time - 8,99 seconds). The third place was taken by a school student from Ukraine Ivan Vinnik (average time - 9,88 seconds) (a photo 167).

This Championship, certainly, confirms MPEI status, not only as one of leaders of Russian Universities, but also as the creative University following world tendencies in the field of youth leisure. Thereof, many school students participating in competition, choose MPEI to continue training, and participating students come to us to realize joint events and actions, and not only on SpeedCubing subject.
